We are VIHARAMAHA DEVI BALIKA VIDYALAYA...! And this is just an initial but a strong step towards exposing to the world our capabilities and our culture...!! Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya;we are the first Buddhist Girls' school to be established in Kelaniya. At the young age of 34, the school stands as a beacon in the Gampaha district, lighting the educational zone of Kelaniya. Initiated on February 1, 1977 under Mrs. Amara Wickramasinghe, the school had comprised of 34 students and 07 teachers. Today, however, the school facilitates both primary and secondary education in the Sinhala medium, as well as in the English medium, to a student body of over 3000. At present, the school comprises of an academic staff of 150.
